Synopsis

Yang Zongbao's birthday celebration is interrupted by the news of his death whilst defending the three strategic passes, leaving his young son the only remaining male of the family. With no general to lead his armies, the emperor believes he must sue for compromise—but the women of the Yang family posess equal spirit and talent to their male counterparts. Led by the 107-year-old matron She Taijun and Zongbao's fearsome widow Mu Guiying, twelve women of the Yang family set forth to defend the Northern Song Dynasty from the Western Xia invaders.
